Scope of Work
As a Green Event Leader you will work as part of our diverse, passionate and tight knit team to support zero waste communities at events. We work to minimize our environmental impact through an educational approach. In this role you will be onsite at exciting events and festivals with the opportunity meet new people, interact with the public and help the environment as we work enthusiastically to leave spaces cleaner than we found them.
Duties
- Act as the main point of contact for the Event Organizer
- Coordinate with the Event Production Team pre-event
- Take full responsibility for an event site or designated area during large events from set up to take down
- Orient and coordinate up to 20 Team Members and Volunteers
- Work as a team to maintain a high level of site cleanliness at all times
- Educate event patrons about waste diversion, waste reduction and the move towards zero waste
- Report to the Event Production Team post-event
- Champion Green Event Services values and mission towards zero waste
Requirements
- Enthusiastic team player
- Experience in a leadership position
- Ability to work under the following conditions:
- Work outdoors
- Stand or walk for up to 12 hours
- Work weekend and evening shifts
- Lift up to 24 kg
- Class 5 drivers license and a clean driving record
- Must have your own cell phone
- Not required but considered an asset:
- Experience working with large events and festivals
- Experience working with waste, recycling and compost
