Calgary Pride
is a not-for-profit organization that exists to promote equality and celebrate Calgary’s diversity. About 40,000 attendees join in on the parade, and Pride in the Park, a free outdoor cultural celebration.
Challenge
With a parade, followed by an outdoor festival, this event covers a lot of ground. Here, the event required people power and waste collection infrastructure to keep the celebrations going.
Towards Zero Waste
This event is sure to please! In collaboration with the event organizers, we’re able to devise a waste reduction plan that’s a value add to Calgary Pride’s values of just and inclusive communities. With our equipment and staff, the public space is left cleaner than we found it, so modes of transportation can move freely and the parks are once again natural spaces.
