Taste of Calgary is an outdoor food and beverage festival, helping Calgarians discover global cuisines and unique restaurants around town. The 4-day food festival is also an exercise in community building, where artisans, entrepreneurs, musical talent and interactivities help bring patrons together.
Challenge
Success at Taste of Calgary means opening the minds and palette’s of Calgarians to new taste experiences. That also means a lot of one-use food ware items needed for all that tasting.
Towards Zero Waste
Through our Waste Reduction Consulting services, we worked with the event organizers to turn what would be food waste into compost. We developed a waste reduction plan where the tasting could complement our urban environment by working with food vendors to reduce packaging, utilize compostable food ware, and invite guests to become involved.
